i am quite amazed at people. i went to a wedding for someone who is 54 and was being married for the 4th time. This person is a wealthy physician with everything he could want and his wife to be and he have been together for 12 years. point is i did not give them a gift. i gave them a card which in my opinion was good. and i traveled 9 hours round trip to get there.
so today i get the thank you card and in it his wife writes "thank you so much for coming to share our happiness" nice right? then it goes on "it was great to see you and we were happy to have so many of our friends around." awwww how nice, sappy but nice. and then i read on and am stunned. it goes on "by the way it seems that the card you gave us and the gift got separated somehow and we are not sure what you gave us for a gift. could you please call us and let us know what gift was yours so that we know." i would rather she would have written hey you didn't get us anything did you you cheap bitch. but really the choice not to get a gift was not a money issue but an issue of this is the 4th time around for you, you are wealthy beyond belief, what the hell could i possibly give you and besides you got married 2 months ago and are just now having a huge wedding.
um, right. i am still at this very moment stunned. is she going to ask me next time i see her , because i do not intend to call her. perhaps i do not understand wedding etiquette. needless to say they also had ballet dancers dressed up as fairies at their wedding. they were dancing all around while the ceremony was happening and they were sprinkinling fairy dust everywhere.
any thoughts?
