Havent updated in a while so why not? I've finally been hittin up ebay and buying goods for project streetbeat. I bought a profile stem last night for about half off and I'm rather excited about having a bike of high end american parts. This bike is going to be the lightest BMX ever, and will make murph look like a sucker for spending so much on his. anyhoo, here's a pic of the frame and fork set:
It's raw metal. An original raw frame from 1985 and supposedly weighs 4.5 lbs (very light for a chromo bmx frame). I'm going to paint it hotrod black. I'm hoping to run FMF hubs to rhinolite rims, everything flat black. with no brakes to save weight. I want to use as many american made high quallity parts as I can, so this project will take a year or so to complete. I already bought a headset and original stickers last year. And i have enough post left over from when I cut the layback down to use on two bikes. I got my portugese test back and got an 87 to my amazement. I'm getting greif from lawyers about my school's car club and thats a real pain in the balls. Project jetta is coming along though and I think I'll drive her to school this weekend.
Coolpants is going to be at the SG show the 17th so I'm excited to meet somebody from the interworld. That'll be neat. We have hopes of snowboarding together too, since we live kinda close. That would be killa.
I applied for a job as a transit employee and it starts at $9 an hour and that'll be good for both my bike and car. I also sketched a new tat idea - but snowboard instructing will pay that off no problem. I only get tattoos in the winter anyway so sweat doesnt irritate them. I guess I'll attach a pic of my setch, but its basically a rough pencil doodle and needs to be refined quite a bit:
