i stopped at the book store after work today because i got a call that a book i have been waiting for 2 years finally came out: a feast of crows the next installment in george r.r. martins song of fire and ice saga. i made the mistake of looking around.. cool! a computer games magazine! wow! a book of chess puzzles! what the? al franken has a new book out? damn you franken! *shakes fist*. $80 later.....
walking home with a backpack full of good books while sipping on a monster khaos ( best tasting energy drink on the market ) and listening to my favorite band. all on a cool fall afternoon. it doesn't get any beter than this.

Ikiru was good. It's about a civil servant who finds out he's dying from cancer and how he changes his life in his last few months. Very different from most Kurosawa since it takes place in modern times there are no samurai.

Oh, and I think I am going to be buying the new version of Ran. It comes out the 22nd, but I don't know that I'll have the extra money just then, but by the end of the year I should have it. It's a two disc set with a bunch of extra features.....good stuff. So, I will make sure to get you my old copy of it when I get the new one.
