Well hell, time for a bad post. Remember my whole love for distance running? Remember my constant posts about bettering my times? Here was my last run:
Starting from the bottom, you see my best time on that run. It was 33:29 for a 3.8 mile circuit. That's awesome. This is where I started when I first did this lap:
That was 3.8 miles, and I improved my time by 7 minutes in a course of two weeks. My goal was to increase my distance by 10% every week (3.8 x .10 = .38 - rounded to .4, 3.8 + .4 = 4.2, then 4.2 x .10 = .42, 4.2 + .4 = 4.6, etc.), run that, follow it up again by another 10% the next week, and so on, slowly until I got to 8 miles (two laps), then I'd try to get my best time on those two laps. Following me? If I did one lap in 33:29 minutes, I could technically do two in 67 minutes. Awesome. Then that meant if I could do three laps in 100 minutes, I'd be ready to run my first half marathon, and I could do it in 1 hour and 40 minutes which is a fantastic first time for a first time half marathon runner!
Bad news? I think I injured my MCL (on the side of your knee, it's the ligament facing more towards your body), so that means no running anymore for a while. That really burst my bubble because I cant workout. I'm going to try other methods but I'm not really happy about it. So now I'm going to see a doctor and I hope it doesn't take me out for more than 6 weeks, and that's being optimistic. I read that it might not be a tear since I'm not buckling under my weight, so that's a good estimate for something like this. I might need to be on crutches for a while. It seems like every year, I end up being on crutches for one reason or another hahaha. Last year I had foot surgery, now my knee is messed up. Good game, I say.
Now I'm going to try and be positive about this, so let's see what happens!
