Wells Landing is closing next to my place, so retail is still proving to be much more risky than restaurants/bars in my neighborhood. Hopefully this spot is not jinxed like some other places in my area that seem to rotate through businesses. But really the most painful is the art galleries which really can't afford the neighborhood anymore, which is rather ironic considering that is what the area prides itself on and advertises as-an Arts District. Welcome to progress and success I guess, which sometimes drives out the very things that drew people to your area in the first place.
