I am tired of going some place where people dont want to fight for there freedom !
1-145 FA MOB Statement
The BN has received a Warning order for mobilization in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to Southern Iraq. We are expecting to mobilize some time in July; the exact time line for the unit to move to a MOB site has not been released to us at this time. We are expecting the official Alert to come sometime in the next 14 days. When we receive the Alert we expect to be given a more definitive time line and the unit stop loss or unit stabilization order will go into effect.
Effective immediately we will stop training on Artillery Tasks. There is a substantial chance that we will not be taking our Artillery pieces. We will begin focusing our training on Army Warrior Tasks, Convoy Operations, Detainee Operations, Force Security Operations and Culture Awareness to include many other necessary tasks required to conduct our mission. Our mission for April Drill will remain as set in our current training calendar. May, June, Annual training (AT) and July training will be rearranged to fit our new mission. At the present time our precise mission is not known; we do know we will be required to operate with many responsibilities under different facets with one of our main missions being detainee operations. A clearly defined mission statement will be given to us when we receive our Alert and Mobilization orders.
Our previous time lines for re-deployment have been reset, meaning that all of us are eligible for deployment. The Adjutant General has stated there are no guarantees that those who have been on recent deployments will not deploy with the BN. This being said, he does not intend to send anyone who has been on deployment in the last two years on another deployment. He is very concerned about the well being of our families and the stress deployments puts on our families. Those who have been deployed in the last two years will be placed in a red status meaning they will be the last priority to deploy. Those who are on the red list who wish to deploy with the BN will be considered for deployment on a case-by-case basis. The BN Command as well as the State Command place the needs and well being of soldier's families above the desires of the soldier. Remember The Adjutant General has stated there are no guarantees that those who have been on recent deployments will not deploy with the BN.
Operational Security is one of our top priorities. For the safety of you and your families, detailed information on locations and missions will not be shared with family, friends or media. You can tell family and friends you will be somewhere in southern Iraq conducting some of the following tasks, Convoy Operations, Detainee Operations, and Force Security Operations.
It is important to remember that this is an opportunity for us to give back to our nation. In many instances our neighbors, families and friends have paid for a good portion of our education and professional development. We have all signed contracts to help defend this country against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, and it is a great honor to serve. We are on a short time frame, so we will stay on task and focused on the training we need to accomplish.
