gentlefolk:
i have been axed. my final day at work is the 23rd of this month. it's an interesting experience, on several levels. for one, this dismissal is different from the former since i'm being terminated due to market forces in the deregulated subprime mortgage industry, where suddenly, the investors purchasing aggregate pools of loans made out to people with poor credit suddenly realized they were being highly overcharged and overspeculated on their products - products which have lost value given the rising interest rates which made refinancing impossible and the general decline in the price of homes in the real estate market. in other words, nobody wants to buy a bag of shit anymore, and the entire information infrastructure that was built up in the past five years to enable this is crumbling apart. i could have told you this from the minute i understood what kind of commerce was occuring.
more information tomorrow.
