As always, procrastination is setting in as school starts and sg doesnt make it easy either, with girls like Cherry. on here. What a talented human being! The more I explore her work, the more i love her! Anyways, This weekend burned a nasty hole in my pocket. Ive got class schedualed from mon. to wed. this semester giving me a slightly extended weekend, and man o man is it eating away my checking account. After next weekend, i think ill lay low for a while.
Theres a near by starbucks and im concidering applying. I live in a pretty secluded area, so a nice quiet coffee shop job might do me good. Even though the idea of working at such a monster of a chain industry kind of bums me out, but whatever. i need to keep myself busy, and some extra cash.
speaking of work, im thinking of starting up a small design "firm". nothing huge, and i mean that (my start off page will probably be myspace...yes, that small). either way, I really am set up very nicely for someting like that. I wont go into great detail, but its something that I think i could profit from nicely. Ive already created a couple of logos for "clients", but all have been volunteer work. I need to start thinking more of the my future.
looking back on this weekend, for all the cash that i wasted on booze and "good times" i had a pretty lame time. Went to a show that ive been going to for the past 3 or 4 years, but this time it will definitly be my last. I dont particularly like the band, but they usually put on a good show, and my buddies are into them so i usually end up going for ride. + this time they brought along a group with them that i thought wouldve been fun to see. So we get there, and find out that we have to wait in line. A looooooong line. reaching to the end of block kind of thing. by the time we get in, I missed the band i wanted to see, and since it was an "all ages" show, the bar didnt open till late. No booze, no good tunes, what do i have left? A room full of smelly sweaty teenagers, with sloppy hair cuts and all on the verge of dehidration due to the small venue. I wanted to take off early (pretty much after i found out i missed the group i wanted to go see) but my buddies, wanted to stay. so we stayed, later, we ended up at a kind of cheesy piano bar downtown, which was probably the best part of the evening, but still nothing great. had a couple of over priced, under prepaired (sp?) drinks, and took off to a small get together at a pretty nice apt. complex. It was fun, but the kind of thing where you start to re-notice ( ) your social life is becoming habitual, so you decided to drink your problems away, and then realize its not worth it and end up going home early.
I think Ive pretty much decided that ill be spending my birthday up in austin. Hopefully i wont go quite like last year. Less alcohol, more physically memorable good times. woo!
hope everyone had a good weekend.
