So I just finished writing out a journal entry. But you're not getting it. Instead, I'm going to summon various facets of style to explain what it is that I was going to express previously. ok, this paragraph is becoming somewhat convoluted...lets change the pace.
So last Tuesday morning I was snuggled deep, deep into my blankets and I was waiting for a phone call. My boyfriend, Ryan, who was 8,000 miles away had been creating something for me during the two and a half months that we were seperated from one another with me in New Zealand and him in Austin, TX. He created it for my birthday. For its delivery, he told me how he was collaborating with one of my friends who would call me Tuesday morning to tell me where to go pick it up. I was extremely excited.
I'd woken up at 5:45am in my excitement. But, knowing the call would come much later, I went back to bed - unable to have breakfast or do any kind of intellectual activity. I looked at the cordless phone on its side - almost giggling at me for my total lack of concentration.
If you knew Ryan and what his presents were/are like - then you'd be excited too. Actually, pretend that you do - and become excited with me.
The phone never rang. That's why it's been a while for me to update. it never rang.
Mom came into my room and said - "Look honey! A note!" I was feeling like a total moo (no, not a moo cow, but a moo) because I was so jdfklasfjlads that the phone hadn't rang. A note?! Peering down my loft's ladder, the note said 'Hurry To Tree!' What?
Falling out of the loft, I figured that I might as well have breakfast, but Mom had other ideas. "Umm..Holly honey, why don't you get dressed and go? I mean, those track pants have a crotch that goes down to your knees and makes you have a plumbers crack. Maybe change...?" I stared at her a little dazed from the 5:45am rise and asked, "Why? It's only a tree..noone will see me walking through the forest that I care about seeing me like this, it'll be alright." From then on came a most bizzare exchange of reasoning back and forth back and forth between Mother and daughter as the Mother aimed to not reveal the secret she held inside.
I ultimately put on some cute hiking clothes (yep, they do exist) and my makeup...all the while saying, "Mom - what IS IT?! Is Ryan here? If he's here - you HAVE to tell me?!!"
She just smiled her sweet innocent smile and she went to drop me off 1/2 way to the tree. I hiked up a true 'Lord of the Rings' movie set (all of NZ looks like that movie) all the while telling myself, "He's not here...just be excited about whatever present is there..." over and over. I felt like my whole body was being rolled on the tops of the west coast glaciers, only to ascend towards excitement about him possibly being there...
I walked alongside the farmland that meets the forest. Many sheeps (hehe 'sheeps' :blush looked at me totally nonchalantly as they know no predators. I smiled and the morning was beautiful. Over two fences, our tree came into view. But no present...?
Looking around I was somewhat confuddled for about three seconds. Three long, anticipatory seconds. Then I saw him. My Ryan, crouched down behind the other trees that circle around our tree, with a huge grin adorning his gorgeous face. I freaked out.
No really. I totally freaked out.
Hugging him, we fell over and I squealed, 'You're here?!?! you're here!?!?!" He flew over especially for my birthday, even though I was flying over to Austin a mere two weeks after he arrived...and..
Once my squealing and our laughter and kisses paused, I toppled over and sat on my ankles. He then took out a medium sized black artists's book and opened it to a page where a ring lay inside red fabric that was sitting in a carved out portion of the book. He asked me to marry him.
He asked me to marry him!!!!!!!!
I said yes.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
haha - here I was thinking I'd have an entry that was exempt from billions of smilies, but alas I cannot resist.
So he's been here for a week now, and he leaves tonight with me then joining him in five days.
thanks for reading - & love you guys. & I wish you all an incredible amount of happiness in your own lives - on all levels, and/or at least on one level.. ! hehe -- & give me a shout if you'd like to bat around why your relationship is hot or cold or in between. I love talking about relationships.
