I am finding, that at times, single parenting is tough. (btw someone recently mentioned that I should open up a bit in these journal thingies) I have never liked people knowing something about me when I do not know them. But...what the hay.....
So..yes I have a wee boy of three years old. And yes he is madly beautiful. His mum and I have been seperated since he was six months and divorced now for about two years. But we get along pretty ok.
Anyway...my son Camden Io is truely hitting his " I am a big boy that does not want to do anything other than what I want to do." phase. He is just pushing all of those buttons. And generally I am always a tired boy. ( I have a lovely job 40 hrs a week maintaining 8 area strip malls...I am the boss. then I have my side work...right now it is a basement remodel in a million dollar home.....maddening is what that is. And lastly I have a girlfriend) So...not a lot of Doug time in there.....but, my time with the boy is Doug time. It is the time I want and enjoy the most. Even when it is not going well. So...disapline without spanking...that is what we are going for....but I have found that distraction, time out and rewards with girlscout cookies does not always work. Sometimes brute force is required....what else can you do?
On a note of true fatherly love.....
Yesterday I bought him is "big boy" bed for my place (he already had one at his mommies) so no more crib here.
Anyway...last night was the first night with it.....it started ok....Then at one point I woke up to him climbing into my bed....I gave him a bit and when he was asleep I moved him back to his. Then around 3 or 4 I woke to him saying "daddy I feel sick" so I went and climbed into his bed with him and he fell back to sleep. He then wakes me a bit later....shaking my head back and forth he goes " daddy...what are doin' in my crib?" I just said...sorry Cam...got out and climbed back into my own.
Once we both woke up for good around 7:30 I climbed back into his bed...we then had a "morning Fart"ing contest.
It was rich.
There...now that is an up date.

Ah yes, saw 'em live in London a year or so ago. They came on and said "tonight, we're not playing any songs off any of our albums". And they didn't. And it was still great...
