Well, I am at home in Pennsylvania. And yes, I have, as er hoped, regained some sense of reality. Jesus is not my lover anymore.
Today was glorious! I spent most of the day by the pool with the puggies ...occassionally jumping in...with them!! Tomorrow I will go golfing with my aunt. I haven't golfed in about six years. I suck...but I'm a fantastic cart driver! Later in the day perhaps I'll return to the city.
I was going through old pictures today. Pictures of all sorts of things. The pictures of my parents especially made me think. Think that my time is precious with them. I need to come home more often.
My Dad was in a very serious accident when he was 17. He had just dropped my mom off from a date (they met at church camp when they were 13 and 14...gross..right?) and was driving through the mountains on his way home. There used to be a lot of unmarked train tracks in our area. My Dad was hit by a train at one of those unmarked areas. He was in a body cast for 28 weeks and graduated on a stretcher.
Tonight I went to a play with my Dad. As we were driving home through the mountains he pointed out the spot where the train hit him. Just completely unbelieveable.
Made me think...
I have got to buck up and live. I have been so amiss of late. Feeling sorry for myself. Beating myself down. There is sooo much to be done. So many wonderful places to explore. My parents have been through so much shit in their lives. How dare I feel sorry for myself.
I must revisit my motto through highschool.... "DON'T TAME DOWN, UNLEASH YOURSELF"
