I've just spent nearly a full week at home with my parents. As I always say...they are amazing. It was tough week filled with anxiety and some interesting panic attacks...never had those before....WOW. Anyway, at the suggestion of the doctor for the loons (as I call him) I started a search for a new pug immediately. He said the only way to get the gruesome images of the tragedy out of my head would be to start establishing new memories with another pug.
So...after many many phone calls this week I made my first trip to a place near Erie, PA. The pugs were a mere two weeks old. I didn't however have a good feeling about them or their owner. Sadly, I started the drive home (four and half hours). Then my mother called and suggested I drive to Kentucky to follow up on another series of calls I'd put in to a woman down there. So, being the impulsive freak I am I decided to drive six and a half hours to Winchester, KY!
I met the boys last night and new instantly that this was what I was supposed to do. I can't believe I bought them both.
I'm sending Percy all my love in doggy heaven. I don't know that I'll ever have any answers as to why such an awful thing could happen or what I was supposed to learn from the chain of events. I do know that I have some really incredible friends that mean the world to me. And my family...foh get about it! My brother was on a train six hours after every thing happened to drive me home. My sister had sent positive thoughts via the internet for my mom to put up on 'post-it' notes around the house to remind me of all that's good in my life. My Dad took me to a wedding he was DJing and made me do the electric slide (I'm still a little embarassed).
Well, the holidays are upon us. Time to pull out those peeps I've been aging for three years and wrap them for my brother.
