Also - thanks for the well-wishing about the Tool concert!! I have to say, Tool were heaps better at the Big Day Out festival than in their solo show in Sydney. Apart from playing "The Swamp Song", I really thought that the BDO gig owned Sydney. :/
However, my seats for Sydney were excellent - they were beside the stage and high up so that I could see details like fingernails and exactly WHAT Danny was hitting at any one time. There was a fantastic bit in Swamp Song where Maynard comes in and the rest of the band have to follow him, and as a joke, he kept feinting towards the mic... enough that they almost started three times and Danny and Maynard were cracking up. It was excellent.
But at BDO I was jumping around near the front and there was room to dance and I could see and hear everything clearly. The sweat dripping down my skin as I exerted myself jumping and dancing and singing to everything... it was golden.
I can't wait to see them in Brisbane and be in the front row standing like last time I saw them here. That tour (Lateralus) was brilliant and shat all over the BDO and Sydney gigs this year, sad to say. I'm hoping the Brisbane one later this year will be up to that standard again.
And in other news: NIN hits Aussie shores in May!! This year is the best ever for music. Seriously.
that new NIN song reminded me of a song that my band did once, or I did once but meh...
I put it up on myspace so you could check it.
