I wish I could help you with your graphic design problem, but I seriously cannot because all though I do have a job and a band, I'm also broke as hell.
And as far as being in a band goes, you should try. I'm a pretty busy man myself but I always make time to be in one. I mean the amazing process of giving life to something you were dinking around out with at one point and the thrill of displaying your art in front of an audience is something worth making time for.
