I really don't understand the obsession with video games and television. Maybe I was somewhat rooted in that set years ago but I feel myself slipping away from it. Even with my occupation having so much to do with pop culture and video games, I feel I have less and less input in these areas. I feel this is a positve thing. It isn't really positive for business, though. All kinds of questions pop up like "Is this game cool?" or "What's that new video with the shaking ass and the rented Bentleys?". Sometimes I do catch some of these things in passing but my brain does not hold on to the information. I guess what is sticking around the most is books, music, guitar, singing, and related stuff. Maybe most of what is presented in this world isn;t worth holding on to. Like winning a shoddily sewn teddy bear from a carnival game. Headed for the dumpster with a "Born To Lose" tatoo across the freyed rayon face.
All kinds of activity in the land of the DEAD CONDORS. I'm cranking out lyrics like Nabisco cranks out carbs. With enough practice on guitar and enough help from my more musically incline friends...there will be positive progress. I mean HONEST TO GOODNESS songs that are VALID. Not just random noise and plummeling. Don't get me wrong, I have not forgotten my roots. It does feel rewarding to have TALENTED people interested in the things you write. Hell, we even have the CD layout ready. It feels like something that I was born to do...create. Everything has been clearing up alot since I've quit taking anti-depressants. I cannot stress the importance of ignoring those devil pills. I don't necessarily think the problem with all of these depressed masses have anything to do with their brains. My juvenile guess would be more external mechanisms that grind people into cornmeal.
Lots of new CDs lately. Echo & The Bunnymen reissues. XTC reissues. Klaus Nomi Greates Hits. two Elliot Smith cds. four different Alan Lomax field recording CDs. a couple THE THE reissues. There is tons of shit on my list but the HALL AND OATES WITH MICHAEL MCDONALD tickets are more important!!! WHAT A FOOL BELIEVES!!!
Still no internet. This is going to effect my ability to properly respond in your journals. So if I seem blunt, I apologize.
