Going to Denver on Thursday. Friend of mine lives on an Air Force base in Colorado Springs. Should be interesting. Apparently, it's not much different from living on campus at a university. Well, the barracks have less security than a university. Poor dude went there to straighten his life out and get a head start into the career zone. The fliers are full of rat shit. You get very little out of joining that club. Considering what you might have to put in. If I'm going to give you my life I had better get round the clock access to brothels and a lifetime pass to the Coors plant.
Show went down decent and as planned. Next to no one in the audience. I can go for that every time. I hate looking at the indie kids. The Shins, Bright Eyes, White Stripes, Hot Hot Heat Volkswagen set is something I wish to avoid at all costs. Not that I have anything against them other than jealousy. I wish I could pretend to be a kid before I get my masters in whatever. Options are pretty damn fantastic. Spending in faux-morlock manner is cool. Trucker Hats are cool. Applied Messy Hair is cool. Buddy Holly frames are cool. I want to be cool too. I wish I could absorb myself in some giant coral reef of slap happy scene kids doing cool things. It would be easy and it would feel fantastic.
Some artists/bands I want to check out:
Davis Redford Triad
The Monks
Joe Meek
Six Organs Of Admittance
Nurse With Wound
Incredible String Band
Loren Mazzacane Connors
Vocokesh
Joe Morris
Sunburned Hand Of The Man
Burnt Sugar
the new cLOUDDEAD cd
I read on Pitchforkmedia.com that the great Nels Cline is joining Wilco. Best news I've had in awhile. The man can rip it up something fierce.
check this dream band out

I would have these legends improvise upon the theme music for the Nintendo classic BUBBLE BOBBLE for two album sides. If I ever get to heaven, this is what I would like as a reward.

indy's gone the way of grunge, hip-hop, the rest. Time for the Earth revolution. long hair, long beards, smokin grass, farming, but no folk music please. i could put up with the smell of pig shit for some good old mother nature. late? fuck that, give me some sun brewed tea and leave me to my t'ai chi.
and now to quote my favorite movie
"We're so glad you found us, Sebastian, You're our best and only friend."
well, it sorta fits.
