So once a year, me and my bestie try to do a unique road trip. Last year in December, we took a perilous trip to Solvang California. Solvang resides deep within the mountains and its a Danish Village! Fucking beautiful! In order to get there, we left early one morning and hit the road for our first stop which believe it or not was the Workaholics house in Van Nuys, Los Angeles. I had to see it, WE had to see it because its one of our favorite shows and I'm totally crushing on Blake Anderson. So then we left after tons of pictures of the house and smoked a bowl while on our way to our next stop to Carpinteria State Beach where we fell asleep on the sand for a bit after grilling some weenies. When we were good and rested, we arrived in Solvang within the end of the night surprisingly after everyone we knew told us it would take a day or so to get there and that my bestie's car probably wouldn't make it. It was all lit up at night with all the left over holiday decorations and there were tons of tourists. The only place recognizable was Subway, other shops and eatery were completely different and unique. There were stores that sold wooden clogs, tons of viking restaurants, and LOTS of really neat hotels, one in particular was designed to look like a giant red barn. Since us bitches didn't have money to splurge we set up to sleep in the car at this really creepy church in the town. It was hella cold but fucking awesome all the same cause we had loads of heavy blankets and enough weed to knock out Willie Nelson. The next morning, we got up early and decided to explore the town before we left. We went to this restaurant called the Red Viking where my bestie was telling me about this dish I had to try called Aebleskivers. Its a little round pastry that is sprinkled with powdered sugar and has this strawberry jam drizzled on it. IT WAS AWESOME. And the coffee was the best I had ever had. I really did not want to leave! It was like being in a fairy tale town.
You guys must simply try visiting this place, it really is magical!
