Tote Gote for $20.
typical Tote Gote, similar shape to mine although mine does have a motor in it:

needs attention of course, but my dreams of setting a Eldorado Dry Lake speed record in the Briggs 5hp based minibike class is one small step closer.*
The Tote Gote has a few things going for it over other minibikes:
1. a torque converter arrangement instead of centrifugal clutch, better off the line plus better top speed performance.
2. two sets of permanent sprockets to choose your gearing. The torque converter drives a shaft with two different sized sprockets. Either of those sprockets drives the next shaft with the two more different size sprockets. Just pop the masterlink and move the chain over. That shaft then drives the wheel's sprocket. you have one gearing for drag racing and one for top speed passes. Yes, that is what they are for. drag racing and top speed trials.
3. a longer wheel base for high speed stability. I'm fucking serious, don't laugh.
4. a cool name.
It won't have suspension or anything else superfluous. I'll cut the bars and re-weld them at the lowest possible "clip-on" height. I'll add a top gas tank (have an old triumph one) and a cafe seat (have a weird old wide brown one) and some waaayyyy back and up rearsets.
I also got a bunch of ammo cans for $2.00 a piece, those are always handy. and a couple of small fosgate car audio amps for $5 each that'll go in the yellow mustang eventually. I love yard sales!

* The Eldorado Dry Lake is a few miles from my house.
there's no actual land speed racing there.
yet.
