I watched a really fun 40 minute video this morning called Downhill Motion. It was shot in the mid seventies and is a little mini documentary on skateboarding in so cal. As the title suggests it's mostly downhill footage, but also some stuff just on the first edge of pool skating. Skinny boards in the pools and no four wheels above the rim or anything, but getting close. There's a little bit of really cool bmx pool riding also, my favorite are the bikes with schwinn stingray frames and bmx style bars. Also some nutcase on rollerskates that flows the pool with his legs bowed out so his two skates are directly inline instead of side by side. For the bikes there's a couple mongooses with the big heavy snowflake type mag wheels. My cousin had one of those, we used to set up ramps (an up ramp and a landing ramp, of course) and jump over each other and our sisters
.
here is a little piece from youtube. somebody added the circle jerks song (to the footage's detriment imho) the actual tunes on the dvd are funky 70's soundtrack jams like you'd expect. There's commentary a lot like the warren miller ski films. highly recommended. The surf film that follows on the dvd was alright too.
If anyone caught the brief blog a couple weeks back about worrying about my Sister, apparently all is well. It's not known what was skewing the bloodwork results but they are normal now, and what had everyone worried about the ultrasound turns out to be a very oddly shaped placenta, nothing more. So it seems that I'll get to be an uncle again shortly! Very much relieved and back to being excited. Did I mention about my niece's first sentence that occured the last time I was out there? It was "I like music" and she was so proud of it that she kept saying it over and over and over and laughing each time. That's really an awesome first sentence.

lol, no i'm accually in so cal. yeah i've tried several different tires. the best traction i've had are from remington's. no joke. i spent a ton of money on goodyear eagle's and burnt'em up in 3 month's. the remingtons were a third of the price. it was a daily driver also, the only reason i stopped is i drive two hours a day for work and needed something reliable. i accually built it for drag and track. i installed gt suspension as well as front and rear sway bar's. that's why the front sit's a little high. the gt front springs are stiffer. it ride's a little rougher than stock but it corner's way way better than stock. in the future i'm redoing the out side again to do kind of a gone in 60 sec. version but a coupe. let me know if you have any more questions. good luck!
