Alright, enough whining from me. If it all goes to shit and I end up living on the streets at least I'll be able to get some reading done. And the climate is great here!
I rode the street RZ around all weekend, it has no gauges at all right now, and due to non-functional powervalves the power band is very touchy and severe. I could wire the valves shut instead of open, that would make it as easy mannered as a kitten but would cut into the high rpm power. That's too sensible. With a little seat time I'm getting used to it, and it's pretty predictable. As long as I mind it's manners in the corners it would be ok to ride as it is. But a tachometer sure would help a lot. It's a wheelie machine- quick shifting into 2nd or third brings the front right up. You know what's funny? I've still not had the R1's front end off the ground and it makes 3 times the power. I LOVE SLOW OLD BIKES! relatively slow of course. I need new tires for it, they must be 10 years old from the looks of them. I could translate the date codes but I'd really rather not know. At any rate they are hard like rocks so I'm being careful.

guitargeek:
Rock hard tires on a bike with a light switch power band. What could possibly go wrong?
