rode my ass off today! (the pedal bike) how many miles I don't know, almost 3 hours total, stopping for a break only a few times on the steepest uphill parts. It's easier to push myself longer on the bike than jogging, it's more fun and every uphill pays off with a downhill. But at the same time it's tough to really get the hearbeat up and keep it up since the terrain is always going up & down. On long uphill stretches my legs protest before my lungs do, the opposite of when jogging. I think doing both is a pretty good program. The last 2 jogging days I also added crunches and push ups before and after the run. why not?
Took the thruxton out for a bit yesterday. It's so much fun when Harley guys want to race! I think they look at it & figure it's the one bike that maybe they've got a chance against? Anyhow, two guys on full baggers, one with a passenger one without pull up at a light in the next lane and the close fella revs it a couple times. I'm never certain if that means someone wants to race or if they just want to encourage you to fly away from the light while they giggle. I point at the light and question with a thumbs up/ thumbs down to be sure. He replies with a thumbs up and from the mirrors obviously tried to stay with me at least for a bit. Hard to tell after 3rd gear if they let up or not, but since the road was nice with a clear view and no traffic I just keep on it until I hit the limiter in 5th, because it's the only reasonable thing to do. I couldn't even see them in the mirrors then I'm dreading when someone with a built up bling chopper with an actual motor challenges me, because the thruxton is by no means fast. it's really pretty damned slow all things considered.
Both RZs are at a standstill, two bad powervalve controllers, So far as I can tell, one person in the world makes new controllers, he's in Slovenia. perhaps the dollar/euro exchange rate will improve by the time I can shell out for some. Not super expensive, I'm just broke. wahhh.
