I'm quitting work on the fence for the day and taking my half guido ass down to the San Genero Festival, which I shall refer to with love as "Las Vegas Dago Days". I shall stuff myself on gnocci, sausage and canolis, perhaps I'll bring home a large saint francis statue on the back of the R1. I wonder if they sell Italian Grandmothers there? I sure do miss mine.
Dago Days sucked hard, what a waste of time. It was like going to the swap meet, vendors selling cheap sunglasses & fake gucci bags, nothing to do with Italy whatsoever aside from 20 pizza and sauage sandwich vendors and a couple places selling cheesteaks. Not a Gnocci to be found. There was a place or two to get some ravioli or baked ziti, and I think I saw a sign for calamari, one place selling canolis. No saint statues or fake religious relics anywhere.
