Shit, this isn't good. I'm not at all happy with the surgery result, vision is much worse than before. Although I do see one image when I hold my head in it's natural position for riding the bikes with low bars: head slightly down, eyes slightly up. If I look up or down at all from that slightly up position, it's double. Before I could see fine looking straight ahead and anything downward from there. That was definately more desireable because I could walk without looking drunk. The doctor was not happy with the results either, and yesterday I got to find out what the "adjustable sutures" she was talking about were. She got in there and adjusted them- basically untied, loosened and retied them up underneath my eyelid, can you believe that? Absolutely amazing, not easy to sit still for (and worse for my Mother I'm sure). I stress about getting a boat down off a broken lift- I've got a little perspective to work with now in that regard. I'm calling the doc's answering service this morning and seeing if the adjustable sutures are adjustable for longer than one day, becuse the upper muscle should probably go back where it was. I'm not the expert but it seems like maybe my bottom muscle should have been loosened instead of my top one tightened? fun fun fun.
-She's not on call this weekend, the doc I got out of bed sounded less than enthused. But he said I can expect things to change over the next couple weeks. I thought that would be the case, it seems logical, but Dr. Shin didn't indicate that would occur and I did ask her specifically. She was bothered that I had double vision downward and upward, that's why she adjusted the adjustables. Oh well, just a wait and see (let's hope the unintentional pun works!) thing now. It's not uncommon to take more than one surgery to get them right, I was just thinking that if there was a window of opportunity to take advantage of the adjustables rather than another surgery...

Hang in there, keep working with the doc and this'll all work out. I mean... she has to warranty her work, right?
