ok. friend's victory in the garage for a month is getting a little old. first- the set of head & base gaskets he got ended up being 2 rears. second - he pulled a stud out of the case torqing the heads (luckily it was the rear for which we now have 3 gaskets). Third, he took the stud to get a helicoil the right size. well, the studs are 10mm on one end and 12mm on the other. you guessed it, he got & put in a 10mm when it should have been a 12.
I fixed the exhaust and intake leaks on the coupe, sounds & runs much better. I still haven't adressed the missing 3rd & 4th gears, possibly tomorrow. But let me say this: first and second gears are lovely. It breaks the tires loose and steps sideways going into second gear under 3/4 throttle. I have no idea how I've survived this long without a car that does that.

How's the quality on that Victory? Is it as big a piece of shit as a Harley?
