Merry Christmas everybody! I'm having an awesome time snowboarding in Steamboat. I missed a huge storm's snow by a couple days, which is hardly something to complain about, but still counts as a minor bummer. 14" of fresh powder was mostly used up by Saturday, but there was still some leftovers to be found in the trees & other less obvious spots. The next evening brought another 4" and it kept coming down strong all day. That & fog (clouds) kept visability way down which kept the crowds down for an awesome day. Snowboarding in the aspens here is kinda surreal, especially with low visibility. It reminds me of a snowboarding video I had in the early 90's. A portion of the riding in it was filmed somewhere in Japan on a wierd mountain forest, perhaps bamboo? I wish I could remember the name of the video, I'd love to watch it again. Some kid with dreadlocks got his head severly pummeled on a pile of boulders if that jars anyone's memories as to the movie title. Internet connection here is annoying, so if I don't get to you, enjoy the holidays. I'll probably be back in Vegas for New Years, depending on the snow here & my legs. They're pretty shot presently so no riding today, plenty of hot tub. The US ski team trains here, so there's always the chance (in my mind at least) of making friends with one of those women's downhill racers who's legs are all business I have strange taste sometimes. The attraction has more to do with the reckless behavior than anything else. Quite enough of that tangent for now. Fucking shame about James Brown, eh. One cool motherfucker.
