So I've been putting off writing this blog for a long time. At least once a day for the last week I have sat down with the intention of blogging, and then I've ended up distracted by something else. I don't fancy myself a writer, and I think that's why this is so hard for me. But I do want to meet new and cool people on here, and I know they're not going to get to know me if I don't blog.
So here goes. I'm just going to say whatever's on my mind. I'm just going to throw it out there, and if you don't like it, you can just throw it right back.
First off, two movie's I've watched in the past week. The Bank Job: apparently so forgettable that I forgot I watched it just a week and a half ago on a plane. One thing this movie confirmed for me: nobody can throw down a head-butt quite like Jason Statham. Its just a damn shame he can't act his way out of a wet paper bag. Definitely not worth the long, dragged out, 2 hours of my life. Especially not twice!
Transformers on the other hand was AMAZING! I can't believe that lil bastard from Even Stevens turned out to be such a good actor. Despite the fact that Transformers was such a huge part of my childhood, I really don't remember much of the story line. All and all, great action flick with a great acting. And despite my violent abhorrence for GM products, that new Camaro is a piece of work.
Also, big news in my life this week: I left my wallet on the TTC while I was coming home from a bar on Saturday night. Probably the worst possible place to leave it right? The worst part is that in some act of profound stupidity, I was carrying my license, birth certificate, SIN and health card in there. Just an FYI for those of you out there who share my unique brand of stupidity, you need at least one of those documents to reproduce the others. So if you keep them all in one place, you are royally FUCKED if you loose them. Anyway, by some act of God, my wallet was turned into the TTC. And not on the bus where I left it, but on the Subway. Obviously, someone picked it up, thoroughly rooted through it, then once they discovered that it had no cash, and all my cards had been canceled, they tossed it aside. Not before ripping it to pieces though. Seriously, was that really necessary? At least the would-be thief didn't have the brains to figure out that he could have sold my identity for thousands of dollars. I had all my friends on the look out for some Filipino boy cashing large checks in my name.
I shed a single tear for the closing of the summer games today. I have greatly enjoyed tunning into the festivities for the past 2 weeks. Michael Phelps is God. Gymnastics and Diving are pretty amazing to watch but i gotta say I have no idea what makes a winner or a looser in those sports. Sure, its obvious when they fall or step out of bounds, but otherwise they all look the same to me. Amazing, but too close to call. And to be honest, I don't think the commentators know anymore than I do. It usually goes like this:
"Wow, WHAT a dive steve! We will DEFINITELY see 10's on that performance."
(judges show 8s and 9s)
"The judges made the right call there steve. See how he brought up a splash when he arched his back on entry? He wont be happy with that score"
like WTF Nancy Drew? Who put these clowns in charge?
Before I sign off.... Kudos to the fine Canadian chicks reppin' the front page in the past week. Picaso aint got shit on Shazzy! Go show these sets some love:
Rubix- Biscuits
Tita- Mystery Package
Lee- Smokin Hot
And.... a non-canuck, but I am totally enthralled by this newcomer.
Avery- Free Bird
