Just got back from watching the movie Control Room with Roxy and I must say all who thought that Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 was good should fucking run, not walk, run to go see this movie. Those who are put off by Michael Moore's reputation as an over the top sensationalist demagogue suffering from a serious cult of personality disorder should equally do the same. I must say I liked Fahrenheit quite a bit, however, I didn't really get alot of new insightful information or perspectives out of it. Mainly it just played on my anger towards the Bush administration and I got some cheap laughs at their expense. This movie spoke volumes about the Bush administration and touched on alot of issues that go much further (i.e. the nature of the media, journalism, propaganda, the diminishing concern of objectivism and many issues surrounding the human condition). I hope Michael Moore saw it. I hope that many people go see it. If only this movie could be the #1 movie in the country like Fahrenheit was last week. Oh, and lest I forget, happy 4th of July weekend.
