I'm back from a week in New Orleans...a little bit of work, mostly play. I really dig that town and would recommend it to anyone at least once. Its one of those places that you have to try on and make sure it fits.
I think the real trick with New Orleans is not simply knowing how to party, though that's a must, you've got to be able to appreciate what sets it apart from other party towns. I like to say that its a "creepy" town...in a good way. When you're walking around at night on the skinny one way streets of the french quarter...and its really dark and there's all kinds of wierd sounds...it feels like a vampire or something is going to jump out of a tree and get you. Creepy. But really fun.
Its also one of those places that's in a time warp. Walk into the french quarter at 8pm...walk out a couple of minutes later and its 4am. Of course that might all the hurricanes I drank.
Anyone got any stories from N'Awlins?
