I guess I came back to the gulf coast of Florida/Alabama just in time for hurricae season!
Well, Tropical Storm Bonnie payed us a little visit, but I must say she'd lost much of her gusto. Pretty heavy rain, and a little bit of flooding, nothing too big though...it was over in a couple of hours. She left us some fantastic surf, though. Just one afternoon with beautiful peeling waves and an offshore wind...reminded me of home. Except the water is a balmy 85 degrees instead of 55...
Hurricane Charlie took a big right turn and pounded the crap out of the Tampa Bay area. We lucked out big time, but boy do I feel sorry for those poor folks in Western Florida. We've had 3 straight days of gorgeous weather while those poor souls had to duke it our with a Category 4 storm. That's crazy, 150 mile winds. That's you...hiding inside your house, because the news told you not to go outside...thinking you're safe as long as you have some candles and canned food, just in case the power goes out....and then your fucking roof gets ripped off!
Yeah dude, I hear people saying all the time, "There's no way I could live in California, coz of all the earthquakes." I'll tell you brothers and sisters, I'll take an earthquake over a friggin' hurricane anyday of the week!

rorschach:
Yeah, since major earthquakes only seem to happen once every 100 years and only in San Francisco
