If only it were so easy...
Assholes
That had to have been what that poor girl was thinking last weekend.
So, my brother called me up wanting to go to the beach. Despite it being almost five o'clock, with darkness fast approaching, I decided to go. So, I throw on a hoodie and a beanie (My ear was still hurting), and my brother, his fianc, and I headed off towards the beach.
So, we are down there throwing a football around. Nighttime quickly settles in, but that doesn't deter us from playing. As the sun sets, more and more people show up...Walking along the water's edge.
About this time, my brother gets the great idea that he is going to find me a girl. So, as one couple is walking by, he decides to throw the football at them, in hopes to pull of an overly used cliche. He chickens out and waits until the girls are far past his throwing limit to throw the football.
A few minutes later, another duo of girls is walking by, and my brother's fianc turns to me and practically screaming, tells me to give her the ball. You see, when my brother's fianc says she is going to do something, she really gets it done. Against my own personal knowledge of her, as well as my brother yelling "Don't give her that ball!!!" I gave her the football. So, that was my first decision.
My second decision came as I started running. On the one hand, I could run to the girls and try a one in a million shot of actually getting together with one of them. On the other hand, I could stop short and enjoy the show. Needless to say, i chose the latter option. I take about three running steps, stop dead in my tracks, and turn around to witness my brother's fianc hurling this football as hard as she can. I watch it sail well over my head, and I hear this loud THUD! At this point, I can't help myself and I bust out in laughter. I'm sure the poor girl gave us one hell of a dirty look as I laughed and my brother's fianc apologized through a laugh of her own.
Let me just say this...Blowing a chance to talk to a relatively attractive girl in order to see said girl get hit in the back with a football was well worth it.
Beware! The Ear!
My ear still hurts. Nowhere even as close as to where it was hurting, but there is still pain. I hope it heals soon...In all honesty, I am fucking sick and tired of going to the doctor's...
In Other Health News
My nose has been horrible as of late. Stuffy and runny. I woke up this morning with this disgustingly awful smell and taste in my nose and mouth...It is hard to explain what it was like since there is no other smell that comes to mind that is similar. It is from the infected gunk that just sits in my sinuses. For those of you who done know, the self cleaning for my sinuses is fucked, and thanks my previous surgeries, I basically have a pocket in my face where mucus collects and essentially rots and become infected...Yea I know, that is gross...But that is my life...
I met with an oral surgeon today. Going to have my wisdom teeth removed probably within the next two months. One of them is already breaking the surface, and for the last couple of days I have had a pain of sorts in my teeth. I first noticed that my retainer didn't seem to quite fit correctly, and then I noticed than my teeth were sore. They aren't really bad yet, and the soreness has since faded away, but it is better to get them out now rather than later. We took some x-rays and discussed my circumstance. So, now I have to get clearance from my surgeon (The one dealing with my tumor...Not the oral), and I have to get this fancy CT Scan (The latest scan, which he says is new and consists of the highest resolution to date) before I can go through with the surgery. I'm going to have IV sedation due to the breathing situation...Otherwise I am likely to panic and gag and all that good stuff...Just how I react to not being able to breath
I'm also going to be getting glasses here soon we think. As some of you may remember, last January I had an embolization procedure. The result of the procedure was the swelling of my tumor, which put pressure on my eye...Knocking it slightly out of line and causing my vision at distance to degrade. Well, since then, my far sighted vision has not been the same. I was most likely going to have to get glasses anyway...My parents both have them, and my frequent use of the computer doesn't help things much either...I just think the whole tumor thing kind of kick started the process.
Friends
I've been kind of disconnected as of late. I'm not really sure why, but I'm working towards change that. I recently received a letter from Angelo, my friend who went off to boot camp last month. He sounds as if he is doing well...Or at the very least, he sounds like himself (Which is generally happy). Apparently his division is extremely talkative, and as such has been doing quite an extra lot of work in Intensive Training. All the added work is taking a toll on his knee. He's had a number of leg problems throughout high school, and I knew that eventually they would catch up to him throughout the camp. And as it turns out, I was right. I'm still wishing him the best and my family's and my thoughts are with him. Not as if he is going to see this, but it makes me feel better.
I've been slacking in writing a letter back to him...I really need to work on that this weekend.
Derek came over for a bit today and we ended up playing some video games as well as going out to dinner (My mom's treat). We of course played Madden, and I racked up yet another win. The standings are Me-237 Derek-1 We also played some Wii and had a little bowling tournament going...I'll give credit where credit is due...He kicked my ass in that game. We ended up going to Coco's for dinner. My dad was working late, and my mom wanted to get out of the house, so she took us.
I'm really not as big as of recluse as I come off as being...Or at the very least, I don't enjoy being this anti-social lol...It is just hard to get out and whatnot because of my health. You would think that after three years I'd be able to adapt to things, but sadly, that is not how things have played out.
Are You Ready For Some Football?!?!?!?
I was going to do some in-depth analysis of the game this weekend, but to be honest, I am tired and don't feel much like doing a whole bunch of research. So here is the short version of my picks:
Chargers vs Patriots
The must watch game this weekend...Perhaps even of the playoffs. The Chargers are coming off of one hell of a season, and very realistically could have been undefeated this year. The Patriots have scrapped around a little bit this year, but this is the playoffs, the time of the year when they play their very best football.
Marty has a very bad history in the playoffs, and you can expect that he will do everything he can this weekend to shut up all these experts reminding him of that. The Patriots had their hands full with the running game of the Jets last week, and this week will be more of the same. LT will have a huge day, and will put SD on his back and win this game. As shaky as Rivers has been, I expect him to return to mid-season form and have a good (not great) game. For the love of god, keep the ball out of dunce Jackson's hands and get Gates involved in the passing game!!! If they do, it is going to be a long, long day for NE.
Brady is 11-1 in the playoffs. He is perhaps the most clutch performing quarterback that has ever played the game. Expect him to have a huge day against the ever week secondary of the Chargers. Also expect a ton of pressure on Brady, as to compensate for a horrible secondary, the Chargers will be blitzing quite a bit.
All in all, SD just has too many weapons on both sides of the ball, and LT is just too fast and too good for a somewhat aging defense for NE. I believe their meeting last season ended in a SD victory 41-17 (Which also snapped a 21 game home winning streak by NE), but expect this game to be much closer.
Chargers 35, Patriots 31
Eagles vs Saints
I suppose if you have to watch a NFC game, then this would be it. But honestly...Who is impressed with anything in the NFC this season?
The Saints will be led by Mr. Always Cool Under Pressure, Drew Brees. Expect him to have a huge day as he puts this team on his back. Also expect the Deuce to pound away at the Eagle's def, and open up the play-action for Brees.
Garcia has been extremely impressive since taking duties from McNabb, as the Eagles are a better team for it. Don't get me wrong, McNabb is a much better QB...But with Garcia, the Eagles are a much more balanced team. Expect Westbrook to be very involved in the game plan. If he has a huge day, Philly may just take this one.
Saints 42, Eagles 34
Colts vs Ravens
You would expect this to be a great match up. Essentially the premier offense in the NFL versus the premier defense. However, this will not be the case. Manning, has a nasty habit of tailing off as the season wears on. We've seen it for the past two years now...The talks off perfect seasons and the mass losses that stack up to finish the season. Manning has also not been overly impressive in the playoffs, with a 4-5 record and a 16/11 TD/INT ratio. The Ravens defense is just too fast, too physical, and too good for the Colts. Manning has cracked under defensive pressure before (See last seasons game against SD), so expect the Ravens to be blitzing on almost every down.
On the other end of the ball, don't expect the Colts defense to be stopping the run this week either. They may have held up strong for one game (Although some may argue that a lack of proper play calling help that), but their true colors will sure this week.
Ravens 38, Colts 21
Bears vs Seahawks
Probably the worst game this weekend...Sorry to all you fans out there.
The key to this game is relatively simply. If Grossman comes out and performs, the Bears win. Alexander will have to have a HUGE day for the Hawks to even have a chance, and I'm just not sure he can do it against this defense.
Bears 34, Seahawks 17
The Wrap-Up
I'm not feeling all too hot, and thus, don't want to go to bed. But I'll save you all from any more of my blabber. Have a great weekend kids!
