I Just Died in your Arms Tonight
Well, can you guys guess what today's theme is?
On Thursday night/Friday morning, I almost died. Ok, so it wasn't that dramatic, but at the time, I really did think I was going to die.
I woke up around 2:20 am and couldnt breathe. I dont mean being short of breath or having a tight chest, I mean, I couldnt breathe at all. Apparently I had stopped breathing in my sleep and went so long that it woke me upAt least partially.
So here I am half awake with my lungs refusing to work. So I instinctively sit up and try to breathe. Nothing. The only way I can explain it is that it felt like I was in spaceYou know, like being in a vacuum. I tried to breathe and there was no air at all coming into my lungs.
So, I jumped out of bed and attempted to make my way to the bathroom. Keep in mind that I am still not fully awake. I made it to my door and sort of collapsed against the wall. I became faintly aware at this point that I had began croaking like a frog in an attempt to gasp for breath. This was actually a good sign, since it meant I was actually getting air now. I heard my parents running down the hall, and by the time they reached me, I was finally fully aware and awake and had opened my eyes for the first time since the whole ordeal began.
We were fortunately able to get in to see a doctor on Friday morning. He checked me out and said that the situation is more scary than threatening. On a scale of one to ten, he listed his concern of my sleep apnea at a three, also saying that at a seven is when we should start taking action. So, that makes me feel better. He looked at my nose and prescribed me an antibiotic since I am going through a sinus infection right now as well. And that is what he believes caused the problemSome of that nasty goo had slid down my throat and blocked my airway
So yea, it turned out to not be something major, but it was by far one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I had some serious problem with asthma when I was little, and this brought back some bad memories. Let me tell you, suffocating has to be one of the worst ways to die
Anyway, the whole situation was rather bizarre. Like I said, I was only half awake during this whole ordeal, so my senses were all distorted. It felt as if I were still somewhere elseLike I was outside of myself looking in. Sounds were muffled, I wasnt really aware of anythingIt was all rather strange, confusing, and frightening.
Definitely not a good night.
A Little Rest
Headed off on a short trip this afternoon. Going to be heading up to Vegas to visit my grandparents. Well be coming home on Tuesday.
Not really sure what we are going to do. We were talking about going to a show, but things didnt work out with the one we had in mind. So, I dont know what the new plan is. Well probably check out the new Red Rock or w/e it is called, and walk around a bitAnd most likely, Ill drop about $40, if Im conservative, into an arcade.
Hopefully there wont be any drama on this trip. Our last vacation ended with me having three nosebleeds the last three nights, and with the way things have been for me latelyWell, pray and hope for the best Goodness knows I could use a break from things.
The Wrap-Up
Well, that will do it for this blog. I really up this trip is relaxingI really need to get my mind off of things. Hope you all are doing much better than me
Have a great weekend.
