Laugh! Hello C4ff31n3. Been awhile, how are things in the North? You must be taking to the hills to ski?
northron:
Not skiing enough. Pining for motorcycle and skateboard, too. Just never entirely satisfied with the seasons.

A very most merry to all of you in SG land! My morning so far has been full of phone calls and texts of seasons tidings. My friends have become scattered these last 5 years. Nice to have so many reach outs coming in with such a tone of love. I have even considered joing that new fangled Facebook thing a ma jig to keep...

Heirloom tomato seeds of some unique varieties mostly. I do love t-er-mah-toes! He also gave me some sea salt caramels, pouches of dried herbs he mixed together that I can throw into dips or use as a rub on poultry. I have a mustard fetish so a few jars of interesting ones, ummmmmm...a bottle of white wine, some raspberry preserves, a pumpkin seed trail type mix that is ultra spicy and a good salami. SO cool! Food=love !
It looks like we are going to spend NYE together so I intend on using the wine then and perhaps cooking with one of the herb mixtures. What are your NYE plans? Cooking for foodies? Your gift bearing lady friend perhaps?
This will be my first New Years spend with a significant in 3 years. I am rusty.
northron:
Yep, Vermont. It's a nice place, but too many people for my tastes.

frown you know, you really should be more careful . . .
northron:
Scars imply experience, which is attractive.

The gift was from a female friend, true. My close male friends however do tend to be foodies, simply into the better things in life.

I went out on a date with the man whom is now becoming less of a mystery. It went well I think but he is not much of a talker.
His smile though, shines.
It helped with the drawn out moments of silence. We would pause, then he would look at me and just flash this amazing smile that curled my toes. It is someone...

As someone who's not much of a "talker" in real life, I regret to inform that I've no helpful conversation tips. However, as a taciturn individual, I can say that folk like me generally appreciate comfortable silences & if he didn't seem "uncomfortable" around you, you can take that as a positive sign.
Best o' luck!
northron:
Thumbs up to StCyr. I'm not much of a talker either, am pretty happy with silent company. Let the conversation flow naturally, even if it seems a bit quiet or one-sided.

Yes, some pictures, if you like. Although the M240B, woman with a 1911A1 et cetera is rather nice.

Long week that seemed to stretch into this one. The Holidays sometimes seem more of a hassle than the joy they are supposed to present. I did find some crazy kewl ( yes kewl) handmade gifts at a local artist market. Inexpensive but thoughtful so my list is becoming shorter.

I "sort of" met someone today. It was just one of those eye locking moments that is so rare and hits you in the oh so right spot. He had a smile that meant something when he gave one to me. I feel like a girl smile

Another morning. That is good news. Need to get some staples for the pantry today, simple things. Sugar, flour, some canned goods that I probably have already and will duplicate and some cerel with some sweetness. I will have to work a bit today as well. Guess that is a must in order to provide for the simple things I have listed above. Exciting I...

Why am I awake so early? I feel like I should try and go back to sleep but I know it is now interrupted and will not be satisfying. In my grogged out state I found myself trying to identify a new scent in the room. Took a few minutes and I realized it was the potted fresh herbs my friend Carrie gifted me with...

Uno. That makes sense! My association with New England has been all positve. Maine with the ocean is addicting., the lively town of Boston. Vermont in the fall. My cousin went to UVM so I know that area well. Quick drive through New Hampshire. People were fairly laid back and open. All around two thumbs up.
westernlass:
Oh, and I so agree. Animals are tops!

My first blurt of nonsense.
Day was decent. I made a humble breakfast of eggs, chorizo and pumpkin bread with unsalted butter. Served proper at room temp as to not tear the surface of the bread. Went for a hike with some friends and appreciated the time together. Some people you connect with. It is effortless. Makes you wonder.
northron:
Pumpkin bread, unsalted butter. You have excellent taste -chorizo and eggs a lovely meal.
westernlass:
To us perhaps. My friend ( damn leaf nibbler) turned her nose up at the combination. It did the job and gave me spurts of energy to rival a mountain goat . Greetings by the way.
