Maybe it's the fact that I've been feeling like shit, or that I hate some of the ads in Inked, but I'm kind of getting over this tattooed girl modeling thing. Its no longer about fucking awesome chicks who don't give a fuck and love the art. The fucking awesome chicks that never fit the mold. All I see are Barbies. Especially in ads. A lot of the time, they don't even bother getting a tattooed chick, though those usually have like one. Maybe I'm being a bitch, but it devalues the fucking awesome girls, and their fucking awesome artwork.. SG wasn't made for blonde, barbie, playboy rejects, with all due respect to Playboy. I already had to deal with measuring up to those girls in highschool, and I'm over it. And its not like I'm a prude. Tattooed chicks are hot, and even hotter when they're naked. But aren't these the girls who aren't supposed to be exploited? What does a skinny "normal" (I shudder at the word, but I don't know how else to put it) girl have to do with tattoo care, or ink, or anything like that? I know its all in mainstream culture right now. But Affliction shirts will go away. The tattoo that Barbie got so she can fit into a new modeling niche?
I wish I were a better writer so that this were more coherent.

You can't blame the artists for taking advantage of an opportunity though...They got theirs so to speak. While it has done a lot for tattooing in the way of people understanding the process and end result, I think more could've been done to educate people about the culture. Which is why I got tired of it quickly. I believe it's done a lot of positive things for those with body art. People are more accepting of it these days than ever before. Anyway, how are you Miss? How's school treating you?
