my mommy came for the weekend. she just left.

i think i got more accomplished this weekend with her being here than i have all semester.

i still didn't have couches in my apartment which was good in the sense that i barely watched television but bad when having company ... the living room didn't look very inviting and sometimes i just like a place to lounge. due to my semi-creative side and my love of all things comfy i decided that instead of couches i would get giant daybeds. i got these two daybeds with huge black frames ... some black fitted sheets and a CRAPLOAD of fuzzy leopard, cheetah and zebra print pillows. i will be an egyptian queen. People need to feed me fruit and fan me with peacock feathers. i am now taking applications.

shit. my dog is drinking from the toilet. be back in a few.

okay. we decided to discover new restaurants and went out for tapas on friday night! this spanish place is just around the corner from my apartment and is an old furniture store turned tapas restaurant and they have a full bar as well. yummy hummus and olive spread. yummy corn and sweet potato soup. mmmmm. we then went and bought a huge ass torch lamp and an itty bitty zebra lamp for my desk. sweeeeet.

grocery shopping. lots of rice and things to make currys and tofu and vegan ice cream sandwiches!! i found vegan mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches. PREACH. apple cider, spiced hummus, soy cheese pizza, chocolate silk (made me think of you of course, pb<3 ), garlic pita chips (horray!), meatless taco meat mix, enchillada ingredients, lots of peach flavored propel, lots of pineapple and bananas, tuna and tons of tri colored rotini. i love my mom. she bought me light bulbs too for my torch lamp and new desk light.

CLOTHING!! we went to urban outfitters and i got some jeans that make my ass look amazing. they are ass-tastic. i got another black hat like the one in my picture and some of these gloves that rock so hard. a couple thermals (a coral colored one and a hot pink one) to wear under shirts for work and some gray pinstripe pants with black leather around the top (horray!). i also fit into the size i wore my freshman year of high school. caddy is getting smaller caddy is getting smaller (jumps around like on christmas morning).

MY MOM DID LAUNDRY LIKE IT WAS GOING OUT OF STYLE. she cleaned my sheets, all my towels (even my roomates towels), hand washed all my shit i can't put in the wash or take to the dry cleaner, took all my coats to the dry cleaner, took my fur to the fur cleaner and leather to the leather cleaner. woop woop.

we went to the olive market!! i got sicilian pitted and non pitted and the best kalamata olives i've ever effing had. they also had tahini and lots and lots of indian food. picked up some of those jewish crutons that are so damn good and then we went to a restaurant and got scallion pancakes (heaven).

my brother leaves israel tommorrow!! i'm sad for him because he really doesn't want to leave but at the same time it is a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders. i've been checking the news hourly since he left in august (literally... which has also led me to be the first to know about things like the deaths of yasar arafat and obd before anyone else) so this will be a nice vacation from msnbc.com. he is also coming to visit on december 1st!! i love my brother ... he's my best friend. his ex girlfriend goes to school here too.. she actually bought him the ticket for his birthday. they broke up since he's been in israel. bet she learned her lesson. now he's using it to come visit ME, bishes!!

i can't wait till my day beds get delivered! i am going to dive into the pillows and just sink for a few hours. watching sex and the city and the l word reruns.

mommy gone. time to smoke my lungs away.

i want to take another road trip. question for my lovely readers: where should i go next? and be realistic. i am in indiana. but willing to drive a bit. 8 hours max.
