i've been tagged, god damnit. i was hoping this wouldn't happen to me, but was pretty amazed that it hadn't so far. well, alas, it did. here are 20 random facts about yours truly.
1. because of what my dad does for a living, we move frequently. i have lived in st louis, cincinnatti, southern illinois (bloomington), boston and danbury, CT. moving a lot has definitely been a large part in defining who i am, i like to think that i take a little bit of each place with me when i go. i also have a plethora of sports teams that i am legitimately allowed to root for.
2. i've had bigger boobs than most people since i was very very young. when i was in 3rd grade we had to swim during gym class and i was constantly stared at. the boys loved it, though. i was asked by my boyfriend if i stuffed my bra in 2nd grade. SECOND GRADE.
4. when i was in 10th grade i basically single handedly ran a riot grrl chapter in boston, MA. i organized a bunch of shows (the unseen, a global threat, the casualties, violent society, the lizzies, the trouble and showcase showdown to name a few) to raise a bunch of money for battered womens shelters. its odd to me that i was so young when i did this, looking back now. twas a piece o cake though.
5. i love hip-hop. if there is a genre of music that i listen to and enjoy the most, it is hiphop. i've grown up with it and have a tremendous amount of respect for the industry, though at times it makes me a bit sick.
6. i am engaged to kore . we are going to have a crazy november rain style wedding, but without the dying part.
7. i started school as a journalism major. i then decided that i hated college, dropped out for a little while, and came back when i realized how dumb i had been and that all i've ever really wanted in life is to be a psychologist. it's amazing how things slap you in the face sometimes.
8. my middle name is Ruth.
9. i am a direct descendent of john paul jones. the naval war hero, not the musician, you assholes.
10. i'm allergic to codine. but that didn't stop me from going through a pill phase. it was a must, i'm in college.
11. i've partied with shaq. and that's only a small part of that story.
12. i have a tattoo on my upper back that is a line from the Israeli National Anthem, "Hatikvah" (which means The Hope). My tattoo means "our hope is not lost."
13. I went to hebrew day school until i was in 8th grade, and there were only 8 people in my class.
14. I got a 31 on my ACT's.
15. i've been masturbating since i was in preschool. a girl named Lucy showed me how. I then showed all of my friends, and we had masturbation sleepover parties.
16. It is incredibly easy to make me happy. I'm a little girl in that sense. you can give me something sparkly or a toy of some sort and i'll instantly be cheered up. the other day i made my friend ask for a madam alexander doll in the mcdonalds drive through window. i love her.
17. i'm getting a set shot by albertine soon, and i've never been more excited about anything in my life. she makes me weak in the knees.
18. i love peach stoli vodka but it isn't sold anywhere around where i live. there is one bar that i can get it at but i hate it and only force myself to go there if i'm going through peach stoli vodka withdrawls. if it's not that, it's the bombay. always bombay.
20. when i was younger i acted in musical theater. i've been in annie, grease and bye bye birdie to name a few. i took voice lessons for around 12 years and still sometimes think i should just quit everything and move to new york to audition for musicals. i don't think that would be wise considering i'm a couple semesters away from a psychology degree. it's ever so tempting though, every day.

I see that one of your friends is visiting NYC. I live outside of NYC and I work there. It is a great place to visit and work in.
It is the birth place of "Punk Rock" and is just oozing with art and all kinds of good stuff. There is still great music of all kinds right here in the big apple.
Tomorrow is Halloween. It sucks being on a Monday. I usually dress up and take my kids treak or treating. This year I am busy at work and just couldn't take the day off. Tree, my wife, will take them out till I get home. I hope it can be early enough so I can spend at least a little time with them.
