Dammit, I'm so slow at blogging! Agh. The tattoo is finished, yay! I haven't got a final pic of it, but it's still flaky and scabby, and that's my excuse. Instead, here is a week old picture of it half-finished.

I'm on annual leave!
For the first year ever, I can take a two-week break and get paid for it. I will be in Brisbane with my family for Xmas and not have to fret about money... Oh, the joy. I'm particularly fortunate because I really only just went permanent before the stock market crash, and our company is one which is suffering pretty badly with the current economic problems. If I were still casual, my job would be in serious jeopardy. As it is we've had to cut back our overtime, but it's still vastly better than not getting any work at all. I feel very bad for our staff who are still casual. Especially because, you know, one of the newer lab girls is terribly cute and I don't want her to go. 
To celebrate general happiness, I got all domestic and made flourless almond-pistachio-orange muffins for me, and chocolate-peanut cookies for my boy. I got sick of rolling out little cookies after a while, so I made the remaining dough into one mega-gigantic-ass cookie. He promptly cut a slice out and arranged it to look like Pac-Man chasing a line of dots.
I later regretted my generosity, because I'm still eating gluten free and couldn't touch the cookies, which are my favourites. The muffins were awesome, but just didn't seem to make up for it. *sigh*
Also! Our cats
My boy still refuses to call them by names, but I refuse to have nameless pets so I'm calling the female patch cat "Pirate" and the male tabby cat "Ninja".
The lad does occasionally have a little too much time on his hands, and he cut together this video and set it to a Murray Gold soundtrack (composer for the modern Doctor Who series). I've never owned cats before, so I don't know if this is normal, but these ones are evil. I currently bear a series of bloody marks down my thigh, where one of them decided it was going to try and climb my leg without the benefit of my wearing pants.
