So the Asia-Pacific finals are today; I should have been up there right now. *deep sigh* I was still trying to work out if there was any way I could do it yesterday, but even just walking around on a warm day at the Wollongong food markets gave me headspins and almost made me pass out. My boyfriend finally put his foot down and said no, I wasn't going to the comp. So I just bought a lot of hippie food* and came home.
* Hippie food: Quinoa and amaranth wholegrains and pastas, raw nuts, nut butters, rye and spelt sourdough breads, maize and barley lavash, puffed brown rice and rice milk, fresh tofu, local produce vegetables, black sesame tamari crackers, and new teas - ginger, matcha and oolong. My system is so messed up at the moment that I'm a bit afraid to eat anything processed, so I'm indulging shamelessly in alternative non-supermarket fare. It all looks delicious. I am currently making matcha (r)ice cream, which won't be ready til tomorrow but already looks brilliant.
Anyway. I've just got around to uploading the pictures from the first round of competition, where I won. If you'll excuse the fake tan (obviously NOT something I'd ever choose to do to myself in a normal situation, but it's the way things are done) I think I look pretty smokin'. It's a shame I fucked up my health so badly to get there, but I'm looking at it philosophically... I'm forming a picture of things I should NOT do if I choose to participate in this sport again. Which I may do. I was good at it, and I really enjoyed it until things started to go south. It's not something that many people could ever do so I felt like I was achieving something interesting, even if most people I know didn't quite understand. I'll have to see what the future holds.
Already uploded these pics to the bodybuilding group, but here they are for the blog too
Chilling before the show

Chilling before the show
Front double biceps
Not a pose but I like this shot anyway
Front lat spread
Side chest
Rear double biceps
Rear lat spread
Side tricep
This was supposed to be front abs, but I was cheating and showing my obliques instead - my goddamn six-pack was refusing to show on the day, but my obliques and serratus looked really good
Another one trying to show off my obliques
Some shots taken during my musical routine
Random shot, this is one of my favourites
With my (idiotically large) trophy for winning
