I've got three days to finish a report on my internship and what do I do? I update my SG journal. Damn you SG, DAMN YOU TO HELL !!!
So, what's new pussycats? Whoo hoo ho ho ho ho!
I started my new job last wednesday, I've got my own desk, computer, the works! The other new guy with whom I did my training brought already brought stuff for his office space (Simpsons figurines and a picture of him and his wife from their wedding... medieval wedding
) but I find it a bit early when they still have two weeks to fire us without notice (yeah, I'm quite the optimistic
).
Anyway, I've been working on a Sims like game called "Living In New York". The goal of the game is to get the guy/gal of your dreams (the artsy type, the model, the funny lover, etc.) and get jobs in the Big Apple in 40 days or else, you're back in Alabama (I'm not even making this shit up). Being a lucky bastard, I evidently got the girlie version which isn't THAT bad but can result in funny situations...
TEAM LEADER: So newbie, how are you?
ME: Okay I guess, but...
TEAM LEADER: But what? Is there a problem?
ME: No, it's just that... how can I put this...
TEAM LEADER: Come on, what's up?
ME: Ed gave me the cold shoulder when I ask him out for a date at the sauna.
TEAM LEADER: ...
ME: ...
TEAM LEADER: ...
ME: Oh... IN THE GAME !!! IN THE GAME !!!
So the verdict for the moment: I like this new job
Saturday, the people from the radio station I work for met up at "The Green Room" for a lil' xmas party. The music was okay (lotsa good funk, then they switched to another DJ who played - get this - Technotronic AND Kriss Kross tracks in the same set! I swear, just pop up the old "Dance Mix '87" in a CD player and you're an avant garde DJ these days), the drinks where - mostly - free but, most importantly, the people were adorable.
By the way, for the people who'd be curious to know what I usually play on my radio show, here's a preview of the next two weeks...

Electric Six - Danger! Danger! High Voltage! (remix)

I don't know about you, but I don't remember any other job where I laughed as much as game development. Programming/designing games just has this way of creating hilarious moments.
So when and on which channel can I pickup the radio show anyways? Sounds interesting.
