So far this weekend I have...
1) Seen this girl I had/have the most childish crush on. She is this bartender in Jacksonville. She talked to me, it was going well, (sidenote - while boisterously obnoxious at times, when approached by a girl I am interested in, I am instantly reduced to an idiot with nothing to say.), but she dropped the B-bomb. She has a boyfriend. I was like, eh whatever, she can still hang out for the night right? So I see her again and I am giong to ask for her number and email to keep in touch when shes in town or I'm up there, and she asks if I can get her 18 yr old boyfriend into our 21 and up after party. I exclaimed in a somewhat loud fashion, "Why are you dating an 18 year old." and informed her that I couldn't and I was sorry. I probably came off like an ass...but should I worry. Not to sound like an ass, but I have become the friend before in other such situations with other girls and I am not so sure I need to become the friend again.
2) Got to hang out with The Get Up Kids or atleast some of them and Recover and they were absolutely fun. It was a good way to end the night. One of the TGUK guys was behind the bar drunk off his ass and bartending with us, it was fucking hilarious.
3) Got to eat a free dinner with the parents.
4) Bought this and am starting a new project tentatively called "ambulance chaser" I want to play around with some electronic stuff and have been listening to alot of My Bloody Valentine and Squarepusher. The band I have put alot of my last 3 years into is coming to an end, but I guess all good things end sometime right?
5) So the rabid response to the when did your parents question is prompting me to have you ponder something else. In reference to my weekend...
When talking casually with someone you are interested in and they manage to slip in the fact that they have a girlfriend or boyfriend, is that the end of the conversation? I got into an in depth conversation about this with one of the TGUK guys and his girlfriend, wanted to see what other people think.
