all of the rain lately has made me think about when i was little i used to get really scared of all of the worms that came up onto the sidewalk because the grass flooded. i remember walking in the park with my dad and screaming because there were so many worms all over the sidewalk. it really creeped me out.
some of my friends are giving things up for lent. i'm not religious or anything like that, but i've been wondering if i should be giving something up. do non-religious people give things up for lent? i don't know.
so today i wrote a little letter to my future self. here it is...
dear self,
first of all, hi. i hope you are good and looking wonderful. never forget who you are. never forget where you came from. please don't get old and bitchy and disgruntled. please don't take things out on other people. don't be too hard on yourself either. stay young at heart. start exercising and get enough calcium. you don't want to fall apart as an old lady. love life and yourself and those close to you. stop wasting your money. i hope you have paid your student loans by now. i hope you're in love and still making love. please don't forget about all of the people and things that have changed your life in one way or another. take time for yourself every day. keep on reading and writing. i hope you remember what you were like when you were 20, and if you've forgotten, i hope this letter helps you remember.
love,
yourself
if you could say anything to your older self what would it be?
