Wow, what a week.
Fieldcamp on North Stradbroke Island...... what a beautiful place, some really nice places to go picnic, beaches to chill on etc. ...... but the locals, gawd, what a bunch of wankers (generally)
There are all these old school 4th generation straddie locals who are all really bitter that now rich people own much of the properties on the island and use them only as holiday accomodation... as well as the fact that they are dirty that tourists come and 4wd / camp / visit THEIR island.
I't unbelieveable, they are all from fairly low socio ecconomic backgrounds, and honestly think that they should be able to live there and noone else be able to use the island... duh! They could always just move out of paradise!!!
Anyhow, camp went pretty well, it was way cruisy work wise, and seemed really an excuse for both students and lecturers to get on the piss and socialise. I met or better aquainted myself with alot of people I have been studying with for over 2 years. The accomodation was shit (concrete cinder block prison style with wasp nests) the food was mostly shit.
Unfortunately my trip was cut short by the news that the father of one of my best mates had passed away, so I had to scoot down to Sydney for the funeral yesterday, and I am now in Syd untill I fly back to Lismore on Monday.
Also, a week without being in touch with SGAU was all very strange, I missed you guys (and you laura ) take care everyone, and love your parents while you can.
xo

sucks how you're stuck in sydney..
Sin City is a bunch of comic books written and drawn by the very cool Frank Miller, its very noir, stark black and white, with a little colour thrown it, the men are tough and hard hitting and the women are whores with hearts of gold, the bad guys are bad and the good guys aren't much better and now they have made a movie based on a couple of the books, its got a great cast and its directed by a fan of the comics and miller has had a hand in the production as well, so fans are kinda excited by the whole idea. so my journal was just me geeking out about wanting to see it so bad and they have just delayed the screening even further
