Well, I had my Coastal Biogeochemistry field trip at Jacob Wells / Pimpima on the weekend, really was not looking forward to it as I didn't really know many people and was told it was going to be full on boths days dawn till dusk.
Well it ended up we were split into 8 groups and did 2 short tasks on saturday and 3 short tasks on sunday, most of the time was spent sitting around doing nothing while each group took it's turn to go out on a boat for an hour. This would have been all well and good.... except everyone expected to be flatout, so we had no soccerball, frisbee, books, fishing gear etc.
DoH!
Oh well, we did have a bit of a boozy sat night and I met some new people which was good... typically I think I drank the most, and went to bed last after going for a lone swim in the river at 2:30am ... was great, nice and peacefull I must say.
I dont really feel like I had a weekend though, and went to uni today only to find I have 2 assignments due in the next cupla weeks... so much for my camping plans for this coming weekend.
I did come home this afternoon to find a book I'd ordered on the work of photographer/artist Jan Saudek had finally arrived from the US, and it's really good, so I'm pretty happy about that.
Lastly here is a pic of one of the local Koala population that live in my backyard.
