OK, How sketchy is this?
I live on top of a big hill above uni, to get down the hill is just a right hand turn off the street I live in, this takes you down one of the longest, steepest streets I've seen.
Anyway, yesterday, I jusp in my piece of shit car (Lada Niva) and drive down the road, I put my indicator on to turn onto this mighty hill, press the brakes to slow up for the turn and ...... nothing..... thats right, nothing.... absolutely NO BRAKES AT ALL!!!!!
Luckily I had right of way at the intersection and insted of turning onto the hill I cruised over and managed to stop the car with my crappo hand brake.
Anyway, this spun me out all day, if the brakes failed 20 seconds later I would have been fucked.... like seriously fucked, with my only option to escape the death of myself and or others, would have been to choose something to crash into before I picked up too much speed down the hill. Also if it didnt happen then, it coulda happend when trying to stop at traffic lights, or a pedestrian crossing... anything
For any mechanicly minded person, at a glance fluid is coming out the bottom of a rear brake drum .... so I assume I've had a blowout on a slave cylinder, need to get my jack before I know more, I'm always going to wonder if it will happen again though, bugger

I read about your car the other day but didn't get time to reply. That's crazy shit. And I've been to Lismore many times so i know how hilly the place is. My cousin used to live in goonellabah. I think that's it anyway.
