Well, my bags are all packed. I'm all ready to go. But I can't go yet... I'm here until Thursday. I'm just so exited about the trip that I got packed up early.
I put a copy of "Howl and Other Poems" by Allan Ginsberg in my carry-on. I always travel with that book. I never go anywhere without having that book in my pack. It's been to 25 countries with me! The inscription on the title page says:
"Unscrew the locks from the doors!
Unscrew the doors themselves from their jambs!"
I don't know what that means, but I do like it. I think it is about breaking down barriers. A good travel motto, I suppose.
Ginsberg isn't my favourite poet, but he is my favourite poet that has published a whole book of poetry that is only 57 pages long. I like to travel light.
The volume has a good poem about love. In it, Ginsberg says:
"The weight of the world
is love.
Under the burden
of solitude,
under the burden
of dissatisfaction
the weight,
the weight we carry
is love."
I like that too. Travelling can sometimes be lonely. And loneliness is a very heavy weight indeed. But it's not always bad: we often meet lovers on the road. Even I have met a few. In the most unlikeliest of places.
Does anyone here on Suicidegirls.com like Allan Ginsberg? Do the naked people have some favourite poets? Are there any good groups? I joined the "travel and relocation" group, but it isn't very good.
Well, that's all for now...
