RELIGION ETC IN DECLINE?
As an extra to my post below, I'd like to ask if anyone wants to tell me if they feel religion is in decline? And how about other possibly 'credulous' stuff like new age beliefs, conspiracy theory etc?
My own view is that religion in the west is slightly panicking because it is in decline. Certainly in Europe anyway (maybe not the USA etc). But new age ideas seem to be increasing and quack alternative medicines are making a comeback after being almost written-off many decades ago. I see a slipperyness in how people argue nowadays, for example if I say to a person "how can you believe that YOUR religion be right when another religious person says the total opposite" I might get a dubious, slippery response like "ah, but even quantum physics says that something can have two totally contradictory states at one moment in time" etc.
I feel like I'm trying to argue honesty, the senses and brutal reality.
I just hope I'm not dogmatic.
