I was at the Ethical Society this morning in London. A good session, all about religion and truth and led by a professor from east london university.
Fairly stuffyand polite, apart from the out-of-place chap who challenged us on everything. The problem with that dude is that every argument he had was one of those warped conspiracy-theory arguments that twists and turns and avoids any fair rebuttal. Most frustrating when he collared me for 40 minutes afterwards, even though he was essentially a good guy. These guys need to realise how close they are to using the same spurious arguing techniques as the media that they utterly despise. Cherrypicking etc.
