Has movie critic Mark Kermode gone too far!
I can just about handle him saying he doesn't like ANY of the Star Wars films. Just about.
But he's on a complete warpath about 3D movies, saying it's just about making more money and stopping pirating.
I saw Avatar the other day and thought its 3D was subtle, seamless and really added to the experience. Kermode, on the other hand, says the movie was just as good without it. Denier!
Denial among experts is a scary thing. He risks becoming like those sports commentators who speak massive untruths every single second of the day ("he NEVER misses a shot from that range", "he was always going to win the fight" etc). I think the web has come along at the right tim because our institutionalised experts are slowly slipping into absurdity/irrelevance.
No offence, Kermode - I still love you and think you're right most of the time. Secretly I wish I was more like you (sobs).
