i decided that instead of leaving behind an angry declaration as my sg epitaph, i should leave something more in line with who i am. anyone who knows me well knows that i am a big believer in the metaphor. metaphors make comparisons of alien topics so much simpler. and i do love catchphrases. they make it easy to focus on the points you want to get across. so i will repost an old blog that i think got skipped over...maybe there's something here that you can apply to your own life:


some things i have learned...life philosophies boiled down to t-shirt catchphrases, if you will...i do not lay claim to having coined them all...just melding mine and others together...

one owes respect to the living. to the dead one owes only truth.

success means getting up one more time

the deadliest weapon is terror

fear can hit targets unreachable to bullets

you must show no mercy, nor have any belief in how others judge you, for your greatness will silence them all

life is short and the grave is deep

you must show a little of yourself to the enemy in exchange for their fear

he who laughs last thinks slowest

friends come and go...enemies accumulate

nobody roots for goliath

the true treasures no thief can touch

it is not enough to know your enemy's weakness...you have to know your own

shackles of gold are still shackles

fear rules those weak enough to accept it

there must be a lot of good in people...so little of it ever comes out

things only have the power that you give them

it is better to be the hammer than the anvil

faint heart never won fair maiden

the extreme always makes an impression

the first thing you must learn about evil is that it cannot be ignored

it is the man who stands in the middle of the road who gets run over

we are slaves to our desires

belief without action is the ruin of the soul

for some things there is no forgiveness

obsession is just a higher level of interest

there is a fundamental conflict between reality and desire

dreams are the movies that tell one's story...some already told...some not yet written

just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you

a woman is a walking miracle

there are some debts you can never repay

anytime someone is afraid of you, you can use it to your advantage

never relinquish your terrors...that's when they catch you

ignorance is the most dangerous thing in society

there are spaces that are never filled except in death

the very heart of the matter of human contentment is in learning not to care

when you have too much faith in something, it is bound to hurt you

it must've been a woman who invented snow...who else could make it so cold?

pain is a real physical entity that lashes out and shares a little wine with its guests

you hold on to what you have, you do not give it up easily...even when you know it is poisoning you

people only fit into a box one time in their lives...the end. and that's the only time you should ever try to put someone in one.
