I just watched the movie "Saw".
Now don't get me wrong.
The movie was not the best picture of all times.
But I did apprecaite the poignent point that is the undercurrent of the film.
So few people apprieciate what they really have.
Seriously.
Think about that for one minute.
Do you really appreciate everything that you "have"in your life.
I'm not talking about what you "don't have".
Forget the American "I deserve everything. It's my right to have this blah blah blah..." bullshit. I am amazed there are people out there who actually think this way.
Yeah, that's right, some of you won't even read past this point. Good riddance you egotistical cowards.
Do you appreciate the fact that you can actually afford to go out and eat that "horrible" fast food/resturant meal. Do you apprecaite the fact that you can actually go to a store and buy food for a nice homecooked meal. Think about the fact that there are people, just like you and me, right now, who would be happy to eat a simple bowl of gruel because that is the only meal they might have for the next 3 days. Don't give me that bullshit about they should move,or get a job,or whatever assanine comment your pathetic arrogant supremist mind can think of.
Tattoos and weekend Movies and going to fucking Amusement Parks. These are things we think are just a common occurences in life.
Do you appreciate the fact that you actually have a bed to enjoy whatever it is your doing on said bed. There are people who sleep every night on a dirt floor and are happy that they have some form a shelter over them at all, whether it be grassleaves, coregeated steel, or mud brick. In fact the "average" person, in a whole world perspective, sleeps on a dirt floor, in some form of crude hut. Be grateful you live in an "above average" structure.
Be grateful that your childhood consisted of whatever fucked up social/political/religious structure you had. Because somewhere in the world right now there is some 12 year old boy or girl who is only alive because they were able to avoid getting shot by the local government or local gang or local terrorist organization and that kid is not sure whether or not they will be alive tommorrow. They didn't ask to be born into this situation. It just happens that way.
There are children lying in hospital beds who have never seen anything other then a heart monitor, iron lung, and people in scrubs with facemasks. And the tragedy is they won't live to see anything other than that.
Right now, all over the world, there are men and women who are fighting to uphold my "freedoms". There are motherfuckers out there who are dying because someone hates my way of life so much that they think that we should all die because of it. There are people who actually decided to do something about it. Yeah it may of started out as a way to pay for college, but now they are actually making sure that we dont have some insane fanatical bastard walking into a school yard in the U.S. of A. with ten pounds of hi-explosives strapped to his chest. This kind of thing happens all the time in the world. Don't be naieve enough to say "oh thats not a common occurence. It's a horrible rare catastrophy" because you are only fooling yourself. I am personally lucky to live in one of the few places in the world where it is an infrequent and horrific occurence. I am personally lucky enough to live in a place that has people who take care of those attrocities for me.
Yet here we sit every day and bitch and moan and cry about how hard everything is. And we wonder why people in the world hate the USA. We wonder why we are thought of as a spoiled and wasteful society. Take a look around. Some days I can't say I blame them.
You think your life is so fucked up and so bad and so fucking hard. Be grateful you insignificant little pissant. Your life could be so much worse and so much harder then you have. At this very moment, you are reading this on a computer, on the god damn internent that you pay for, on a fucking web site that you pay for to be a member of. Yes, everything may not be sunshine and roses where you are at right now. But you have things to be grateful for.
So be grateful.

I think back to my childhood and know that I was lucky. We didn't have heat ever, no water at times, no electric at times, no food at times, house fallin in on us, but it wasn't so terribly bad that anyone died or anything, so we were lucky. Yeah, we knew people that were killed because of gangs and drivebys, saw people die in front of our house, but we lived, we're okay.
I'm lucky for everything I have right now. I'm thankful for not being in a place where the threat of death is as great as the rest of the world. I know I don't say it everyday, but I'm glad I'm here and I'm glad I was brought up as I was. Otherwise, I'm sure I'd be just another super greedy American swine....I am a bit now, but I know it could be worse.
(Wow, that was long, I'm sorry.)
