I have noticed that as a whole, this mass of muddled flesh we call humanity is selfish and afraid. I for one am suredly one of these people. At the same time I seek to be enlightened. I seek to be a kinder person, not so worried about myself and at the same time not so worried about other people but to instead find a balance.
In this modern day and age we are jealous of our neighbor, or some random acquantaince, because he has a nicer car than us, or because he has a nicer house than us, or because he has 200 channels were we only have 90 (not that there is anything good on, no matter how many channels you have). Instead we should be content with what we have. Some would say that if you have shelter and food that is enough. Some say if you have shelter, food, transportation and companionship that is enough. But most say it is never enough. And people wonder why everyone is overweight or jumping off buildings because of credit card debt and bankruptcy claims.
Free your mind. Society says that you are this or that and you belong here or there. Society is wrong. You belong (for the most part) where you are. You are going thru what you are going thru because of your choices or the choices your friends and partners have made. You can be depressed about it or you can learn from it. I choose to try and learn from it. Hopefully I can so that I will not be in the same predicaments I have gotten myself into.
It is said that perfection can never be achieved, but one could search for it for ones entire life and it would not have been a wasted life. As long as you do not look at societies ideals of perfection but instead developes your own ideals of perfection and strive to achieve them. Then by the time you have achieved them you will have changed enough so that your ideals of perfection will have again changed with you. You can then begin your search again. This is the cycle of life.
Be contented with who you are but always continue to better oneself in whatever way you can. Say "hi" to someone you would never consider talking to. Refrain from a sarcastic comment that you would normally let fly. Let go of a small peice of hatred you hold onto. Take time to slow down from the normal insane pace you live and just relax for a moment, reflect for a moment.
The journey continues....like it or not.....that is up for you to decide....and up to you to fix
